What is Processing? (from the official site):
Processing is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animation, and interactions. It is used by students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists for learning, prototyping, and production. It is created to teach fundamentals of computer programming within a visual context and to serve as a software sketchbook and professional production tool. Processing is an alternative to proprietary software tools in the same domain.
See http://processing.org for more information
This event will be an introduction to Processing and generative art more generally. It will include examples of what’s been done and what it can be used for as well as a walkthrough to get everyone started with the programming language and environment. We will also be covering Processing JS (the JavaScript port of the language which can be run within a browser without the use of plugins).
By the end of the workshop you should be able to create your own computer generated art and animations. You’ll also learn how to make them available on the web.
No previous programming experience needed.
The workshop will be run by Keyvan Minoukadeh and Katrin Caspar.
